BOTOX®
Introduction to BOTOX
Your face no longer needs to be your first indication of age! Injectable procedures reduce wrinkles, restore facial volume, and can dissolve fat in unwanted places—all without any surgery. At Seattle Face & Skin, our team works with you to create a plan that produces a natural result that fits your face. To find out how BOTOX and wrinkle relaxers in Seattle can help you, keep reading below.
What is BOTOX?
Botulinum toxin is commonly used to reduce the heavy vertical creases between the eyebrows (glabella frown lines or “11s”), flatten forehead wrinkles, and smooth out lines around the eyes (“crows feet”). Following treatment, a misrepresented tense or angry appearance transitions to appearing more relaxed and rested.
Botulinum toxin can also be used to reduce age-defining wrinkles around the mouth and nose, thick muscle bands of the neck, jaw muscle fullness, excessive upper gum show with smiling, and as well as uncontrolled sweating. Our providers are very experienced injectors who focus to create a natural, vibrant look. The most commonly used formulations are Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin.
What are the Benefits of BOTOX?
BOTOX in Seattle has helped so many patients find their confidence and feel comfortable in their skin. Some of the other benefits of BOTOX are:
- Can help prevent migraines
- Customizable
- Enhances natural beauty
- Immediate, lasting results
- Non-invasive
- Quick treatment
- Reduces the appearance of facial wrinkles
- Treats neck spasms, excessive sweating, an overactive bladder, and lazy eye
Who are the Best Candidates for BOTOX?
Botulinum toxin therapy is a great option for anyone searching for a quick, easy, non-invasive way to appear more refreshed. Injection reduces fine lines and furrows that change a tired, tense look to a more relaxed, softer appearance. Though the effect is only local to the muscles in the face, botulinum toxin injection is contraindicated for patients that are pregnant.
What’s the First Step?
The first step in getting BOTOX or another one of our wrinkle relaxers in Seattle is to contact Seattle Face & Skin to schedule your consultation. When you come into our clinic for this appointment, you will be able to meet with Dr. Bhrany or a member of our aesthetics team and express your desires for this treatment. They will answer any questions you may have, evaluate your face, and ask you some questions regarding your medical history. It is very important to be open and honest when having this discussion as it will help your provider make informed decisions when creating your treatment plan and prevent any unnecessary risks. If you agree with the plan, you will be able to have your treatment performed after your consultation. If for any reason you would like to reschedule, our Patient Coordinator will be able to help you pick a better day for you.
What to Expect on the Day of BOTOX
For the procedure, you will be seated upright in a comfortable exam chair. Before any botulinum toxin is administered, makeup and dirt will be removed, usually with an alcohol pad. Injection proceeds to the various sites and is typically completed within minutes of starting. Some redness and swelling may occur at the injection sites but usually subsides within a few hours. Very rarely, patients may experience minor bruising. Taking arnica before and after treatment may reduce the risk and length of bruising. We like to have our patients return within a few weeks to ensure treatment goals were met and there is no need for any small touch up.
BOTOX Recovery
There is no downtime or serious recovery time following BOTOX injections, so once you are cleared to leave, you can go about your day as you normally would. We highly recommend taking it easy with more aggressive activities like working out to allow the toxin to settle into place. You will need to avoid rubbing the injection sites for at least 2 days to avoid migrating the toxin injectable to unintended locations. If this happens, it could cause potential facial weakness or drooping. You may experience mild puffiness or pain in the injection areas, but this should dissipate over the next 24 – 48 hours. While BOTOX is not a permanent treatment, it is long-lasting with the average patient enjoying the effects of their injections for 4-6 months.
How Much Does BOTOX Cost in Seattle?
The cost of BOTOX in Seattle is determined by a number of factors, including how much of the injectable you need to achieve your desired appearance. After coming in for your consultation and meeting with Dr. Bhrany, he will be able to create you personalized treatment plan and with that information, our Patient Coordinator will be able to show you a cost breakdown for your treatment.

Botox FAQs
Your procedure questions answered.
-
Although the average Seattle BOTOX patient does not find the treatment to be painful, some people do feel the pinch of the needle insertion and find that to be uncomfortable. Over the next few days, it is normal to feel some very mild discomfort or pain in the injected areas, but you should feel fine shortly after that.
-
You will only need one appointment to enjoy the look of BOTOX injections, however, they are not permanent. If you are enjoying the results from your treatment, you will need to come back for touch-ups every three to six months, as your body will naturally and safely absorb the toxin during this time.
-
You should be able to see changes following your injection after a few days, however, you may be a little puffy or red. As the swelling and redness dissipate over the next few days, you will be able to see the final results from your BOTOX treatment.
-
Many of our Seattle patients will combine their BOTOX treatment with other injectables like Facial Fillers to achieve a fuller face and more youthful appearance. If you would like to find out which treatments we offer that would be best for you, please discuss this during your consultation and you will be given the best, professional recommendations.

Botulinum toxin injections are very well tolerated and rarely are their complications. But as with any treatment, there are always risks such as bleeding, infection, or a suboptimal outcome such as asymmetries or drooping of the eyebrow and eyelid. Asymmetries can be corrected with small, touch-up injections. Drooping eyebrows or eyelids are rare after injection but correct with time as the botulinum toxin wears off. Our providers at Seattle Face & Skin are highly trained to avoid any negative reactions, however, some potential risks and side effects are associated with the procedure:
- Crooked smile or drooling
- Droopy eyelid or cockeyed eyebrows
- Eye dryness or excessive tearing
- Flu-like symptoms
- Headache
- Nausea
- Pain, swelling, or bruising at the injection site
- Redness
- Temporary facial weakness
